Formed in Connecticut, USA, in 2016, Fires in the Distance is a progressive melodic death/doom metal outfit known for weaving crushing, low-end heaviness with sweeping orchestral grandeur and melancholic piano work. Spearheaded by guitarist/synth player Yegor Savonin, the band bridges the gap between Scandinavian melodic death metal and bleak atmospheric doom.
