MILOCAMPO THE SHIT HITS THE FANS 2014: That time I saw Descendents (for the 2nd time) & The Replacements (for the 1st time!) 9/27/2014!!!! My son won us tickets in an online contest. I was REALLY looking forward to this concert. Having never seen them (THE MATS) in their "HAYDAY". This was an outdoor festival show. We drove out from Bullhead City,AZ. It rained a little on the drive to Tempe. Just before we got to town I got a call on my cell from a FB friend telling me the show had been canceled due to a major storm, but the show MIGHT go on at an indoor venue. I go into full on PANIC mode! "NO THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!" We get down to Tempe and get off the freeway to make our way to our hotel. We are confronted with flooded roads, trees down and closed roads. WTF!!! We finally get to our hotel and check in. We get in our room and I try to log into the wi-fi so I can see what the latest word is on the concert. Wi-Fi password doesn't work. I go back down the front desk and get another password and log in. I find out that the concert has been moved to a SMALL indoor venue and that they are letting in paying ticket holders first. Then if there is still room inside they will let in COMPED ticket holders. I call my friend Linda to see what she knows about the situation. She tells me they have 2 lines to get in. A COMP line and a paying ticket holder line and that I should get down to the venue ASAP to get in line and have a chance to get in. We get our things together and drive to the venue, which was only a few miles from the hotel. We get there in record time and find a parking spot. Now we have to find out where we pick our tickets up at. We track down the guy with the COMP ticket clipboard and finally get our tickets and get in line for a CHANCE to get into the show. After a little wait they started letting our line in. I can't relax until we're in the venue. We get in and I can't believe I'm gonna see THE MATS in a small venue!! (they were only playing outdoor festivals at that point.) We find a spot by the back wall. There is an electrical cord running down the wall, which was perfect for setting up my digital recorder to record the concert hands free so I could move around and enjoy the concert. After sitting through TAKING BACK SUNDAY's set I was ready for some DESCENDENTS!!! They came on and played a short 40 minute set so THE REPLACEMENTS could play longer. After the DESCENDENTS set a lot of people left. When THE MATS came on it seemed like there was only about 200 people there. The lights went out and I turned around to get my recorder started. When I turned back around I see Tommy Stinson dressed as a Teletubbie!!! I am HAPPY!!!! Paul had mic problems and his vocals didn't kick in until halfway through 2nd song but the crowd filled in the vocals until then!!! My son made his way down front by Tommy and almost caught the Teletubbie outfit when Tommy took it off and threw it into the crowd!!! (DOH!!!) The band passed around a notebook for the audience to write their song requests on and then passed it back to the band. I made my way down front for a couple songs while my son kept an eye on my recorder. After 34 years of seeing many concerts this was a top 5 concert for me!!! THANX to my son Cameron for winning the tickets!! Ran into my friends after the show too. A great time was had by all!! The Replacements / Descendents / Taking Back Sunday Sep 30, 2026

Christian Wieting This decade was mainly driven by R&B and Funk from the 🇺🇸. New albums flooded the market in 🇩🇪. A friend of mine’s father was a Major at the US Air Base @ Frankfurt AirPort. We had access to the PX shop though and always got the latest recordings (Luther Vandross, Marcus Miller, Bar Kays, Lakeside, Starpoint, Cameo, EWF, Kool & the Gang, George Duke, Herbie Hancock, etc.). It was an epochal phase having parties, concerts, private sessions always driven by that amazing Funk. A very nice memory and the albums are still playing and make people feel happy. 😎 Cameo Sep 30, 2026
Christian Wieting An unforgettable evening at 🇺🇸/CA/ Santa Barbara, that was more than just a concert. Boz Scaggs at 81 years old generated an atmosphere that led people who never met before started hugging, embrassing each other: Tears were rolling, some were screaming as emotions needed to explode. This reflected back to the band and drove them to any extraordinary performance. There is nothing else to add. Just amazing. Boz Scaggs Sep 30, 2026

Renate Chick Your welcome, and thank you for replying. February 1 1987 was the scheduled tour end date, but they cut the tour early thats why January 21, 22, 23, 1987 were the last concert shows. Although for the last almost 40 years google, Wikipedia listes Feb because a few media writers years ago used that date instead of researching the last shows. I am trying to correct and bring awareness to those dates. If you and your wife remember say singing Happy Birthday to Steve on his birthday it was the 22nd, if you remember Steve receiving a miners gold pan it was the last night 23rd. The first night 21st had nothing extra memorable. Hope that helps you to remember which night. Now, how exciting you got to meet the band and go out and party with them. I'd love to hear your story, did you get any pictures, where did you go was Steve there too, did your wife have lots of fun and memories too. My tapes are not complete but sound decent may bring back some memories or at least know you were there for the historical last full concert Journey with Steve Perry did. 🥰🥰 Journey Sep 30, 2026
kingsfisherman Thank you Renate, I don't have the ticket stubs for the show my wife and I attended so I don't remember the exact dates for their shows(the 80's are a bit fuzzy still.) I do recall going to the hotel bar on the top floor and meeting the drum tech and then meeting the band and then taking the drum tech to an afterhours place that night. Journey Sep 29, 2026

Renate Chick Journey did not play February 1 1987. They played January 21, 22, 23, 1987. I attended all 3 nights. I have my tickets. I recorded, bootlegged all 3 nights. Last night Steve Perry was presented with gold pan, he read the inscription dates. Hear it on my remastered historical tapes on utube. Please help correct these dates. Thank you. Journey Sep 29, 2026

Jason Worthley Show #172 Great Show. I saw TPR with AC/DC last year and I'm glad they did other tours for smaller venues. Such a good Rock show. They supposedly filmed a music video this show so we'll see. Paris Jackson was great too. All around great show. The Pretty Reckless / Paris Jackson / Doug Sep 29, 2026
